So, I realise that this is probably the 3rd or 4th time I have done this but I feel like my blog is going through a change again. In fact the entire world of blogging is changing, and the way things we consume media is changing. Although I am not here to talk about that too much, I do feel like I don't have the time, or the passion anymore to do full plus size outfit posts. They are hard work for very little reward, and I don't have the time really to dedicate hours it needs.
The plus size world has changed and I don't feel like I have anything new to say or add to it. Long gone are the days are sharing cool places to get clothes, and exploring getting our arms and legs out and commenting on each others blogs. We have these conversations on twitter and instagram and tumblr, a selfie or quick outfit post I do there gets a lot more interest and conversation than it does on my blog.
I never fully invested a regular posting habit, so brands never invested in me. So its a lot of financial commitment getting new outfits, you need to be posting at least once a week to get noticed and start a relationship with brands, they want good regular content, I should know, I am a brand thats what we look for! So from the blogger perspective I just couldn't find the time to do this.
On a more selfish level, I could never achieve the standards I wanted to achieve photographically. I wanted a happy medium between editorial and street fashion, and my photographer just didn't have the skills and I didn't have the patience, my marriage would not have lasted one more photoshoot(!) So although it won't be the last time you see me in outfits that I think are great, this won't be the platform I will be showing them on.
This blog however will be taking a step sideways. I like having a blog and I love taking photos. Unlike OOTD pictures I can set up the shoots in my own time and my own way so the content will be more regular. I will be focusing on more behind the scenes of Black Heart Creatives, the various projects we have going on (which always seems about 5 or 6 at any one time!) interviews with other small business's (please email email@example.com if you would like take part) possibly some craft things, and relevant purchases. So no more beauty reviews here, but expect to see jewellery and pins and patches that I have bought and the progress of my punk jacket!
I hope that those who do follow and read my blog continue to do so, but obviously its quite a bit change in direction, so you can always follow me on twitter, instagram, pinterest or even tumblr.
So I shall leave you with my greatest hits, my absolute favourite outfits I have ever created on this blog, and will see you on the other side in a new format, with a new blog layout and new content!
